Meet Our Surgeon
Dr. Lori Travers
Since 1999 Dr. Lori Travers has performed more than 60,000 laser vision correction procedures, putting her in the top 1% of ophthalmologists in the world that practice the specialty. She is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
She attended Georgetown University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biology. She then received her M.D. degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed her residency at Georgetown University Hospital’s Center for Sight. After graduation, she completed a year of study in Carlsbad, California with Lee Nordan, M.D. Dr. Nordan was the principal investigator for the FDA trials for the first all-laser-lasik femtosecond laser (the newest generation of LASIK). In 2001, Dr. Travers had laser vision correction on her own eyes by Dr. Nordan.
Dr. Travers then moved to Raleigh, North Carolina to open LasikPlus Vision Center. After serving as the medical director for LasikPlus for 7 years, she decided it was time to pursue the dream of directing her own lasik practice. In 2008 she opened Travers Lasik Vision Care, the only privately owned clinic in the Raleigh area specializing in laser vision correction. She has become the most experienced Lasik doctor in the Triangle with people often travelling from all areas of North Carolina and surrounding states to receive treatment from her.
Dr. Travers lives in Raleigh with her husband, Mike (Vice President of Travers Lasik), and her four beautiful daughters Katie, Jodie, Maya, and Leila.

Meet Our Optometrists
Meet Dr. Kevin Hoye, O.D.
Originally from Massachusetts, Dr. Hoye received his Bachelors in both Biology and Chemistry from Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts. He received his Doctorate of Optometry at the New England College of Optometry in 1999. Dr. Hoye has practiced primary care optometry for 13 years, of which the last eight has been spent in the Triangle before joining Travers Lasik Vision Care in 2011. He now lives in southwest Wake County with his wife and two young boys, Owen and Cameron.
Meet Dr. Stewart
After graduation from the Ohio State University College of Optometry. Dr. Stewart accepted a Fellowship in Low Vision Rehabilitation at the Illinois College of Optometry.
Completing the Fellowship, he joined the faculty and stayed in academic practice for the next 8 years until family obligations brought him to Durham, North Carolina, and private practice. After many years of private practice, he sold his Private Practice and joined Traver’s LASIK in November 2021.
He continues to live in Durham with his wife and son, enjoying golf, tennis, and his passion, Fly Fishing in the Smokies.
Meet Dr. Davis
Charles (Jack) Davis spent his youth in western NC in the town of Hendersonville. His undergraduate training was completed at Western Carolina University and he received his doctoral degree in optometry from the University of Alabama-Birmingham. His optometric residency training was at the Tuscaloosa Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Previously, Dr. Davis served as the Chief of Optometry Service at the Salisbury Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Salisbury NC. Dr. Davis has graduate degrees in psychology, public health, and health care administration. He currently has a research assignment with the Research and Education section at the Salisbury VAMC.
Meet Dr. Joanna Reiman
Dr. Joanna Reiman was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina and graduated summa cum laude from North Carolina State University with a Bachelors of Science in Biology and a minor in Genetics. She attended the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO) and graduated with clinical honors in 2015 with a Doctorate in Optometry. After graduating she returned to Raleigh to serve her home community. She spent 7 years in years in private practice before joining Travers Lasik this year.
Upon returning to North Carolina she became a member of the Eastern District Optometric Society (EDOS), the North Carolina Optometric Society (NCOS) and the American Optometric Association (AOA). She is currently the President of the EDOS, the Secretary-Treasurer of the NCOS and the Federal Advocacy Representative for North Carolina with the AOA. Dr. Reiman was awarded the 2019 Young OD of the Year and the 2022 Optometrist of the Year by the NCOS. Dr Reiman lives in Raleigh with her husband Steve, children Nora and Davis, and their rescue dog Sky.
